Hello all,
I've run my WinXP Pro on a variety of configurations (upgrading my motherboard/RAM/hard drives from time to time, etc.) and have at times not been able to put the system into hibernation. It would make the attempt, but then the Windows Desktop would come back on, and the Hibernation option was not available again until a reboot. One time I had 1.5GB of RAM, currently I have 2GB RAM. If I remember correctly, the last time I tried hibernation, it came back with something about my cordless mouse driver not allowing the hibernation process to complete.
Are there common problems with WinXP's Hibernation? Is it a problem with having too much RAM, or certain drivers that cause this problem (i.e. mouse driver), or something else? Are there things that can be done to ensure that hibernation will work consistently?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
