Known issues with G430? 1

Our main site uses an S8730 with CM 5.2. Up until now our LSP sites have been G350's.

We're bringing on another LSP site soon, and as the G350 is no longer available our BP has recommended the G430.

Are there any known issues, problems, or 'gotchas' with the G430 that we should be aware of?

Yes, make sure you use the LATEST firmware, as we have had many issues with the S8300C/D's going out of service (rebooting or not being reachable, and requiring a reboot/power down) in slot V1, as either LSP's or Main processors. supposedly the most recent G430 firmware should solve that. The release is: g430_sw_30_12_1.bin

Also make sure you apply the Linux KERNEL patch (KERNEL-2.6.18-128.AV7c.tar.gz)to the S8300C/D and use the latest CM 5.2.1 patch as well, 02.1.016.4-18111.tar.gz
