Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knew of an WYSIWYG HTML editor that

a) can be used in a web browser
b) is done in ColdFusion
c) will format the page according to a stylesheet provided
d) has decent documentation

We're currently using the eConstruct! editor ( for this, but it doesn't incorporate stylesheets into the WYSIWYG display, which is frustrating for users, and, in general, it just sort of sucks for a variety of reasons. If anyone knows of a really good one, please let me know.

Thanks,

Misty

Ektron's eWebEditPro does it for us.

Pass it a stylesheet and it will automatically build a dropdown with class selections.

It's somewhat complicated and frustrating in it's advanced configuring... but we finally got it to write HTML with SPANs instead of FONT tags.

It's actually a java applet, but it integrated nicely with ColdFusion and comes with several CFM examples. Hope it helps,

hi,

most of these HTML editing component are based on the Microsoft's DHTMLEd component that is included in IE 5.0+ .. for older version it is possible to download the component automaticly.. there's a fully documented SDK you can find at this location
this is only the raw component so you have to build several personnalized functions around it, it supports DOM so it is easy to use it with Javascript functions. You've also the possiblity to build your own ActiveX component with this one.

I go for Allaire ColdFusion Studio 4.5.2 and Dreamweaver 4.0 and it works great!!!

It's not totally an WYSIWYG HTML editor, but when developing web-applications, you will find yourself more productive mostly just typing the code.
