i took a SQLserver-Backup (without any error) and tried to restore this fine backup of another machine with similar configuration.
But it doesn't work.
For Backup SQLServer did ask for the databasename and got it in long form, i.e. test-data. Next more SQLServer did ask for the Logfile-name and got in in long form, i.e. test-log. Later when i tried to restore, the databasename was simple shortend to 'test'. The Logfile-name kept unchanged.
The backup was not to use because the name was changed.
my question: what can i do with this backup ?
coul'd it be the system cut the name of databasename?

thank's in advance.
