Does anyone know whether the Klez fix tools (in particular, the one from Symantec or the one from Trend Micro) can detect the Klez virus if they're not run with the machine in Safe mode? We want to let our users run these, or put them in the login script, but I'm not sure whether they'll be effective or not. If not, is there a tool out there that will work with the machine not in Safe mode. Also, does the Klez virus always disable the Antivirus on the machine? In other words, if Antivirus is running can you be assured that the Klez virus is not on the machine?

You could ask Syamntec all these questions on their free tech board. It takes a few steps to get there such as going through their knowledge base but this page will lead you there. Just choose any antivirus product mentioned.
