Is there any way I can write a script to check a different terminal and kill the processes running each time one hangs. Currently I have uneducated staff trying to do this when it is the weekend and no one else is around to help. It would be nice to have some kind of tool or scrip that they could run to make it more fool proof

Any help would be appreciated

You could write a script to run in cron say every 15 minutes and any terminal process that is older than 15 minutes, meaning no user interaction, would be killed. If they run some other scripts that take longer, add an exception list.

Thanks for the info I will maybe give that a try!
