Hey guys, sometimes one of our users will ring us and say his or her mailbox is locked, sure enough when we run a "PS -AUX" we can see that there is a process open with a PID which their username is holding. Most of the time when I "KILL PID" it stops the process and the user can user their email normally but every now and again I get one I just cant kill. Ive even tried stopping sendmail and then issuing the kill but nope it just seems to stay there and suddenly it will go after what looks like some kind of timeout or something.

I need to be able to delete those processes dead so I can let my users continue using their email... Any ideas anyone?????

TIA

Did you tried :
/sbin/service ipop3d stop
/sbin/service ipop3d start
or even
/sbin/service ipop3d restart ?

i'm not sure if it's ipop3 or ipop3d
but for sure it should work ...
let me know
