u cant do it, unless u have created that parent window via javascript...
so, writin
var wnd=window.open('newpage.html','','')
(may be from ur index page)
and than from that newpage.html do whatever u want, but be shure 2 write there <body onblur="self.close()"> - this will make this new window close without message box alerting that u're tryin 2 do that as this page will loose focus (when it wuld open another window or smth)...
