I need your help!!!

I got the new Photoshop CS2, and everything is fine except... I can´t use the
keyboard shortcuts!! For exemple: I click in letter Z (the zoom tool), and
nothing happen!! I only can have that tool if I go to the tools menu and click
in the zoom icon!
Is this normal??
