All of a sudden my Keyboard stop working.
Checked in Device manager – Keyboard disappeared, no yellow signs
In Control Panel –Keyboard-Hardware, window is empty.
Keyboard is Standard 101/102 –key or MS Natural PS/2
Try Keyboard on another Desktop comp- working well.
OS is XP SP3 , machine is ThinkCentre A50 Desktop
Noticed on Windows start unusual behavior – there is something showing that Boot is not O.K.
Goggled but no help found.
Please help me how I can fix this

Not 100% sure but sounding like maybe your hard drive or motherboard is failing. I would first make sure I had a backup of all important documents then test your Hard drive with our drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility. Also test the RAM with Memtest. Both can be found on the Ultimate Boot CD.

UBCD: Download at the bottom of the page.

Turn off computer
Pull power cord out for 5 minutes
Plug keyboard in
Restart computer
Fixed??

Not fixed:
Check BIOS log if there is one OR see if it sees the keyboard in the BIOS. If you can move around in the BIOS - question answered.

Reset BIOS to defaults unless you have specific settings that you need to keep.

Some viruses do cause loss of keyboard or mouse function.

If the Keyboard works on another machine I'd try a different keyboard on the problem machine.

If it still won't work then possibly the connector being used developed a problem.

If you are using a PS/2 keyboard try USB. If USB then try PS/2 or a different USB port.

I wouldn't say a keyboard failing points to HD or motherboard failure as a first diagnosis though.

Was referring to the: "Noticed on Windows start unusual behavior – there is something showing that Boot is not O.K." as far as possible HDD or mobo issues based on the first part.

I agree a USB is the easy alternative if it is just a port issue though.

Betting 100 fake dollars that error is saying "keyboard not found - press F1 to continue

I totally agree with goomb.

Touche salesmen. On second glance I will most likely concur with that too.

I always love the "keyboard not found - press F1 to continue" messages. How is one supposed to hit F1 without an attached keyboard. (Yes I know USB keyboard inserted, but saying you dont have one at your disposal)

Hopefully the OP will enlighten us on his endeavors.

Everybody like to be right - that's why I'm on here. You can set the BIOS to ignore different errors:

REPORT ON:
all errors
mouse errors
mouse and keyboard errors
just keyboard (that's what I usually pick)

REPORT ON:
all errors
mouse errors
mouse and keyboard errors:"
- no Error message in My Computer-Manage Event Viewer
- no Keyboard icon Device in Device Manager
- no mouse errors, mouse is O.K.
- on Boot sequence ( not in Windows, but in DOS with Intel (R)
Boot Agent FE V 4.1.10 ), reporting Keyboard Error 0211
I'll try to enter into BIOS and see what can be done there.
Didn't mentioned I have connected two Desktop machines through a
switch KB...( not sure what is it's right name ) so I can
change from one to another machine using Keyboard, or by
pressing baton on a switch.
Could be this switch is faulty.... who knows

You have a two system KVM? If so, shut down the PC, remove the KVM Keyboard and Mouse connections, plug them into the PC in question and see if it works. If so then the KVM is bad or needs to be reseated.

A KVM - That is something that should have been noted. In any problem, you reduce it down to the bare essentials, removing anything extraneous between you and the problem.

I agree with DrB0b's advice, but you might also try unplugging the KVM and the computer, letting them sit for a couple minutes and then power on the KVM followed by the PC.

No need to fool with the BIOS until you've done both the above.

Sorted. First disconnected the switch, then connect Keyboard directly to PC , got back Keyboard on Device Manager and in Control Panel, after reconnect Switch and cables, reset the KVM switch and all start working normally.
As a conclusion seems that this KVM switch is faulty- causing my problems and I’ll go to change it.
Thanks for your assistance and help

Next time when you post, don't forget to remember to post all the environment details. It helps.
