Sorry for the cross post on this for all of you in
the general Unix group.

Repost----------follows-------

Hope this group can help, I've already trolled
through all the summaries on Sun Managers.

Here goes.

Sunblade 100, running solaris 8. I have some
legacy software installed on the system so I'm
sure this is the area thats confusing the keyboard
however I just cant come up with a point to start the
troubleshooting. So with that said heres the only
problem I am having.
A user logs in and opens a terminal (xterm, dtterm etc) the following characters q y u x (upper
or lower doesnt matter) print a ^] instead of the
actual character.

Any ideas on what to check? ENV wise I have it mapped
to /usr/openwin/lib/X11/XKeysymDB. Not sure if this
helps but its about the only place I've thought of
starting this little adventure.

TIA

Hi,
You can try to replace the file /usr/openwin/share/etc/keytables/keytable.map from a working version of Solaris 8.

I hope it will help.
