I have an Emachine laptop with XP personal with internet access and Norton Internet Security.

One day the right side of the keyboard started to act in a bizarre manner, like so:

123456789*-=
!@#$%^ *_+

qwerty456-[]\
QWERTY-{}|

asdfgh123+'
ASDFGH+"

zxcvbn0,./
ZXCVBN</

If I set up another user, that user doesnt have the problem. But I believe it doesn eventually happen for the new user also.

Anyone know what kind of a problem this is?
Thanks.

It sounds as if the profile is set to use the Fn keystrokes (probably in blue on the keypads - emulates the Numpad on full-size keyboards), does that match?

What happens if you hold the Fn key down as you use the right side?

I can't think of how it's set for the profile though.

Yes, bcastner, that indeed was the problem. I don't use this laptop much, so I had to look for Scroll Lock key and that fixed the problem. Thanks.
