keyboard and mouse

For some reason my mouse and keyboard stops responding randomly for no apparent reason. My mouse and keyboard aren't damaged in anyway and I have installed new drivers for my mouse but it still happens. It usually happens when I'm playing a game. Please help

you didn't say anything about what you have for a machine.
any number of things will cause a keyboard\mouse to lock up:
cpu overheating, bad memory etc
games tend to be more intensive which is why they would fail more often there
