Hi guys,

I was just wondering what happens to my key buttons,

if I pressed INSERT or DELETE or HOME or END

they all come up with ~

How do I make it functioning properly:

my Os is Unix Solaris
my terminal using putty.

I never got any problem with this when I used to work in Linux.

Any idea, thanks?

Cheers,

Hi,
You need to call your shell for doing so. Type your shell (E.g.-bash) and then try again.

I never set a goal because u never know whats going to happen tommorow.

Putty has a Keyboard configuration setting. You will probably need to try something different there, but you'll also need to make sure the TERM setting you get inside your shell is accurate.
I'm sure there a folks here using Putty in Solaris who can give more detailed examples of a working solution.

Hi guys,

Thanks for explanation,
forgot to tell you that I have called my shell which was bash and I looked at my keyboard setting and it is standard one and I tried other settings and the result is still the same...

Anyone using putty 0.60 and Solaris 8?

Thanks.
