Kernel won't link

Conditions:
Hard drive failed
Installed new, larger drive
Used Lonetar airbag diskettes and restored master backup.
System boots and accesses software, but in single user mode only.
Verified software and system and fixed discrepancies.
Removed MPI and associated drivers and devices.
Reinstalled MPI.
Error on relinking kernel: i386ld fatal:symbol referencing errors no output written to UNIX. First referenced in /var/opt/K/SCO/link/1.1.1Eb/etc/conf/pack.d/kernel/os.a
Also references rtcgetn.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
 
Additional info: This systeme is SCO 5.0.5 OpenServer
 
Try a custom -V thorough to check your installation. custom -V thorough -x will do a check AND fix. Annihilannic.
