If I run the kernel -r command to probe all devices and then reconfigure the namespace in /dev as well as the physical namespace in /devices. Will this kill the processes running. I have some apps that are running and dumping to a couple different databases and I cannot afford to kill these processes so I don't want to do a reboot -r. Has anyone ever ran this command?

You can do normal shutdown to halt state, on startup go to eeprom prompt (Stop+A), and do "boot -r".

Regards,

Carlos Almeida,

have you tried using the drvconfig and devlinks command. use the man page on these because you need to specify the device you are adding such as disks or tape device but i think they should do everything you need.
