Hi:
I am loading Red Hat Linux 7.0 in my Compaq Proliant 400 machine.Hdd: 4 GB (SCSI)
Partitions: two(2 GB each, 1 having Windows 98 loaded)
CDROM: ATAPI
RAM: 128 MB
Fdisk was used to format and create the drives.

During installation the process stops with this error:

VFS: Cannot open root device "" or 08:41
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic:VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:41

Can anyone help please to overcome this problem?

Thanks in advance.
