Kernel Mode Trap 06 in SCO Unix

Customer has SCO 4.2 v3.2 system. ASUS P2B-S motherboard. HD crashed, requiring replacement. We intially added Adaptec 2100S controller, for RAID. Due to problems, we backed off, and would settle for just getting a single drive to work in the original system, under original configuration! After loading all diskettes and rebooting, we get PANIC: k_trap - Kernel mode trap type 0x00000006. This is incidentally the same error we got with the 2100S controller. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.

= invalid op code
usually caused by bad memory or bad driver.

probably whatever caused the hd to crash took something else with it.
