Hi,
I'm having an error on a nic on a redhat el as 3 upd 3.
On this system there are two network cards.
I see, about every 10 minutes, the following error in messages log file:
kernel: eth0: vortex_error(), status=0xe081
command mii-tool shows:
eth0: 10 Mbit, half duplex, no link
but the nic is up, I can ping it.
I see also errors when running:
netstat --interface=eth0 -c

I think it's hardware problem, can you confirm?
Thanks,
Tarek

In the /etc/modules.conf the entry for eth0 is:
alias eth0 3c59x
options 3c59x debug=5 full_duplex=1 options=0x204

Hi,
can you please help on this issue?
Do you think the nic has problems?

Thanks

Please check your rj45 connector/utp cable.
And try to use NIC diag tools
Good Luck....:)
