Please HELP!

Hi

Have you upgraded from 32 to 64 bit?

If so there were some issues when upgrading from 32 to 64 bit on 11.00 with Device drivers. The HP document ID is KBRC00002076.

Hello Queenie,

I was not able to find this document on us-support.external.hp.com.

Can you please, place http reference to it.

Thanks and regards,

Hi

Here's an excert from the page that I mentioned which refers to the following doc
Make sure that you don't have any 32-bit kernel drivers loaded requiring special attention before
converting between 32 to 64-bit. This can cause the mk_kernel at the end to fail during the upgrade. You can verify that the machine is running on a 64-bit
kernel using "getconf KERNEL_BITS".

To update from HP-UX 11.0 32-bit to 64-bit OS (or vice versa), follow these steps:

1. Verify that your system supports 64-bit operation. Please consult "Criteria for Transitioning to a 64-Bit OS" on page 17".

2. Check the following table for device drivers that may need special attention before conversion between 32- and 64-bit Operation. These drivers are supplied on the HP-UX Application CD.

3. Convert your system to either 32-bit or 64-bit operation. If you have drivers or kernel modules proceed to "Procedures for Converting between 32-bit and 64-bit Operation for Kernel with Drivers" on page 70. Otherwise, proceed to "Procedure to Convert between 32-bit and 64-bit OS" on page 72.

The table below lists Device Drivers Requiring Special Attention Before Conversion between 32- and 64-bit Operation.
