Kermit 95 Scripting Question

I'm using kermit 95 and I'm trying to get the user to display a command prompt to their screen after they have logged in, instead of the default main menu options. However so far everytime I try to get the prompt to display or change the way the user logins in. The connection either disconnects after 3 secs or the connection just sits there but nothing happens when I type anyting to the screen.

Can anyone offer any help or point me to where I could get help.

What do you mean by the "default main menu options"?
what version/flavour of *nix?
k95 -> gui or console version?
is it set to auto login?
