I have about 120 mailboxes in Kerio Mail Server 6.4 that I need to migrate over to a new install of Exchange 2007. There's email, contact, and calendar that should be moved. I would prefer not to use Outlook to make pst files for every user, as described on Does anyone know of a better strategy?

Thanks in advance.

Rokkena-

Exchange 2007 allows for direct migrations from legacy exchange versions (2000 and 2003) and Lotus Domino (uses a Transport Connector). You can also migrate from Novell Groupwise if you have a 2003 Exchange server in the organization (2007 no longer supports the Novell Groupwise migration). As far as I know, there is no direct migration path for Kerio Mail Server to Exchange 2007. I know you may not want to do it, but PST's might be the quickest and pain-free course of action.

I'm unfamiliar with Kerio personally, but assume it's a POP3/IMAP based mail system. You can still use the Transport Suite from Microsoft to migrate any POP3/IMAP based mail server to Exchange 2007

120 mailboxes shouldn't take you too long, but the process is rather slow compared to purchased solutions. I'm thinking about 3-4 hours unless you have very large mailboxes.

I used it for my migration for about 550 users and it took all day, but my mailboxes weren't that big (50-100MB each).

If you can export your user accounts/passwords from the system to a csv file, that will save you some time. Also, if your system allows you to "logon as", you can login as the admin for each of your users and not have to worry about what their existing password is (if your export doesn't clear text that info).

Hope that helped.

It's an IMAP server, you'll likely be able to use the Transporter Suite.
