Just got the 24 key Expansion Module for the IP2004 phones.

None of the buttons work. I can see it is powered on.

Our BCM systems is version 3.5 and F/W of the phone is D31.

Do I need to upgrade the BCM 200?

No KEM expansion is not supported on IP telephones on BCM products only M1 at this point.

Upgrade the software to release 4.0 and it will work.

What all do I need to upgrade it?

Nortel needs a service contract but I'm just an end user. Our vender just sells the equipment and doesn't do any upgrades.

You would need to upgrade to release 3.6 or 3.7, then to release 4.0. There are upgrade kits available.

The KEM for 200x-Series IP Phones is supported on BCM 4.0 or BCM 50 2.0. Both of those software releases are now available.

Where would I get the upgrade kits?

From Nortel or do other vendors have them?

They easy to self install?

Any nortel partner can get it for you. They are very easy to install. You will need 2 upgrades. Each will take about 2 hours. Phone system will be out of service for the duration of the upgrade.

Can't find the 3.5 to 3.6 upgrade.

Should be NTAB9953 is this correct?

Or does the NTAB3454 upgrade it from 3.5 to 3.7?
From what I can find out it only upgrades from 3.6 to 3.7.

NTAB9950 - BCM 3.6 Software Upgrade Kit. Free

NTAB3434 - BCM 3.6 upgrade kit. Has a cost to it.

NTAB3603 - BCM 3.6 to 4.0 upgrade
NTAB3686 - BCM 3.7 to 4.0 upgrade

You'll pay about the same whether you upgrade to 4.0 from release 3.6 or 3.7, by the time you factor in what you'll pay for the release 3.7 upgrade auth code.
