on our LTO3/LTO4 tape, how do you keep track of how many times a backup tape has been used?what do you all have in place to do this already? I've been thinking about putting a 3"x2" label with fields to enter date used.
We use the "IBM System Storage TS3100 Tape Library" tape drives.

I use the tracker label that comes with our Quantum LTO 4 tapes. The tapes are good for 50 rewrites so the label has 50 boxes in two rows.

Every type of tape that I've ever used has come with the tracker label. It's usually part of the bigger case label but you just separate it and stick it on the outside of the case.

Hope this helps.
