on our LTO3/LTO4 tape,
how do you keep track of how many times a backup tape has been used?
what do you all have in place to do this already?
I've been thinking about putting a 3"x2" label with fields to enter date used.

Hello,

you should issue a mminfo command with some parameters like :

olabel : the first time the volume was labelled
labeled : the most recent time the volume was labelled
mounts : number of time the label was read

mminfo -avot -r "olabel,labeled,mounts" tape_name
