Keeping DC at remote site feasible for Disaster recovery?

Hi there,

I would like any feedback on the above. I would imagine that I would need to tweak replication to occur at specific intervals (out of office hours) and configure the workstations to use a specific DC (one local to them). The idea being that if DC at main office was to go down I wouldn't have to flaff around too much in order to get it back up on running (you know hardware compatabilty issues etc). The remote server could even be a laptop...is this possible?
 
You can put a second DC up on a different subnet, add that subnet to Sites and Services in a different Site, and configure replication however you like on whatever schedule works best for you. As long as your client computers' subnets are defined to point to your main site, the other DC will not be used to authenticate them unless your main goes down.

Hope this helps... i'm a little sketchy on what your big picture is here...
