Howdy guys,

Does anyone know how to keep an active window in FPW2.6 active. Sometimes, a person accidently clicks outside the current window area, sending *that* window behind the main menu window. There's got to be a way to keep the active window in the foreground until a close routine used! I can't believe that you can only pop up one window at a time. Also, I would not belive that you would have to make a windows EXACTLY the same size....Does VFP do the same?
I would like to keep the windows NOGROW, NOMINIMIZE, NOFLOAT

Also, how do get rid of the "Foxpro" main screen window, and just allow ONLY my windows to appear?

Thanks,

Mark Geer

Mark,
FPW applications are normally all single modal screens (with the occasional modal dialog/auxilary screen), and so these problems don't come up. While it is possible to code a FPW "event driven" application with multiple modeless screens, it's tends to be very complex. Remember that FPW was, for the most part, just the GUI update to FoxPro DOS, where the expectation was pretty much "do one thing at a time and don't confuse me".

VFP applications are normally event driven and modeless. In fact to get FPD/FPW app conversions to work "like they used to", it's often necessary to add code to prevent the "normal" scheme.

You have much more control over all aspects of the forms (with less work) in VFP, including getting rid of the "main screen".

When you GENERATE the screen which you wish to be temporarily on top, click on the MORE>> button. Then put a check into the Modal Screens option prior to clicking on the Generate button.

This will make the screen, once it is activated, stay Active and not allow access to other screens until closed.

This may be done within the Project Screen Set options or as a single screen Generate.
