hej!
I have established a link between an MS Access db (nt4) and a MySQL db on a FreeBSD machine. When I update one the other is updated also, and vice versa. This works really well.
However it only works as long as MS Access is open... when I kill Access the connection/link dies with it.
Is there a way of keeping the link alive and using it even though MS Access is closed? Because the Access db is used by other software... keeping Access open in the background would obviously be a really poor solution to the problem.
Anybody know how to solve this problem? What I need is some magical daemon-type app to keep the link alive or something... anything, as long as it works. )
