Hi all, I'm looking for a solution to keep group alive.
I'll have a 3300MXe MCD 4.2 setup with around 30 Ring groups and each ring group have around 6 members. The ring group type is all ring. All ring group members are hot desk extension.

Now I'm facing a problem that if all extensions logged out, the ring group will become out of service. I supposed it will follow the overflow point, but it is not. My solution is put an embedded analog port into the Ring Group. However, if there are 30 Ring groups, it will waste all 4 x Analog ports for this purpose.

Is there any one can provide me a better solution for this situation?
Any Help would be highly appreciated.

Kelvin

You could try multicalls instead of the analog.

Hi Sarond, it doesnt work because even if I set the multicall to no ring, display will also flashing the caller Id.
And we don't have a spare phone on site.....
Anyway, thanks for your info.

Could you add a "phantom" pkm to a phone, program up 30 unique numbers, set them to "no ring" and add the keys to the group?
You could add a PKM to a phone and no one needs to know it's associated with their phone.

I tried that way. It it like multicall. If the phantom number rings( even set to no ring), the phone will display the caller id. That is not I want.
Thanks.

where do you wat it to go if busy? if voicemail

Ok so here's what you can do:

Create a Nametag Hunt Group the same DN as Ring Group but * in front

Label it in Tel Dir Same as Ring Group

Re Route Always Hunt Group to Ring Group Pilot

RE ROUTE FIRST ALTERNATIVE of HUNT GROUP to Voicemail

Creat a speeddial to the Nametag so people don;t have to dial *xxx if you like. Makesure people always dia tis or the Nametag

Works a treat!

Thanks mitelmatt,
Your method should be great. However, this ring group is already a 1 st alternative destination......
But you reminded me I can try to use the 2nd alternative.
Thanks:)

It doesn;t matter that the ring group is a first alt, just chnage it to the Hunt Group number instead?

@dryquaman
Caller will hear ringing if I put an anonlog port into the ring group. If any extension available, it will ring immediately. Finaaly route to overflow point after overflow timer expires.
