I have a report with many "groups" of information (invoice information). I would like the last groups information to stay together and move to the next page if the whole group doesn't fit on the current page.

For instance, I have the invoice info, inv. total lines and Customer total lines for a particular "group" or invoice. I would like all the info pertaining to one invoice to stay on one page and there will be several invoices per page.

I hope I am using the term group appropriately. I am a new user and hope not to confuse because of my inexperience.

I have reviewed the previously asked questions regarding page breaks but didn't see a situation like mine. I am so happy to have found this website and am learning a lot just by reading other's questions and answers.

Any help would be appreciated.

yes...you must be carefull about use of the word "Group" as it has special meaning in Crystal

I would like all the info pertaining to one invoice to stay on one page and there will be several invoices per page.

you want more than one invoice/page??? these must be small invoices then.

I used to be a sales manager so I have some idea of invoicing

You should give us a sample of what you want for output

I envision something like wanting all closed invoices for a given customer...so...

Group 1 header would be customer name or ID
Group 2 header would be Invoice Number
...
other groups to define the invoice...eg. Line number
...
details
...
Footers for "other Groups"
...
Group 2 Footer
Group 1 footer

I would think you would want a page break after each invoice...so you do that by enabling the "New Page After" in the Group 2 footer

Now if you want a particular section of the invoice to not split across 2 pages then you enable the "keep together" for that section....if you want a grouping of data to not split across two pages you enable the "keep together" for the group.

Hope this helps

If you have inserted a group based on customer number or customer name, then you use the section expert. In design view, right-click on the section in the left margin and choose section expert, then make sure your group header is selected and click the keep together box.

If you have done that and it still splits, then in design view, right-click on the group header in the left margin and choose change group. Then click the options tab, click the box to keep group together and then OK.

My report is a summary of all the invoices for a particular sales rep in a one week period. So all the invoices and the detail for each invoice are listed one after another. There may be 1 to 6 invoice summaries per page.

If a customer has two invoices in that week they are placed together with a total for that customer. I don't like to see the Invoice Total and/or Customer Total on the next page with the detail on the page before.

I am in Crystal Reports 8.5

Thank you all for your replies..
