Keep getting UNDERLINED text - how to turn off?

Hi, I just upgraded to windows 7.

For some reason, I keep getting my text underlined.

I am looking for a way to turn it off.

I did go to 'underline' button, held ALT and clicked on the button to get options, turned it off there.

but each return for new sentence is underlined.

If each return for a new paragraph causes an underline, look to your paragraph styles panel/palette.
