Can anyone help me reformat the drive through the controller? I need the procedure or give me a solution? hard drive was wiped out by someone else and this is my first SCSI I've worked on, can't get the hard drive to be reconized and keep getting this message 'couldn't open the boot partition to check for a signature', It's a Dell precision 610, been to there site no help at all....stuck in Michigan

What operating system? How are you trying to format drive? If you're using NT/2k/XP you'll probably need a driver for the SCSI device (press F6 when running install - then load flopy with driver).

PS. Check any anti-virus in the bios is turned off.
