Keep Certain Controls on Same Page in Detail Section?

Hello,

I have a report with a fairly large Detail section (tons of data including a few subreports are included for each record). I understand that in many cases each record will take more than one page to print it all out.

My question is this: Since I have the data visually grouped with labels and lines, is there any way to force Access to print certain controls all together on the next page, if they won't all fit together on the first page?

The KeepTogether property has no effect on this, since all of the controls are in the Detail section. Is there some other way to make this work? Possibly some VBA code that would run on the OnFormat event???

Thanks!

Heather

you can check the position of controls in the OnFormat event handler for the Detail Section, and push them down if their position isn't what you want.

free hint: it becomes much easier and cleaner to move groups of controls if you have them on a subform. a subform doesn't have to have multiple records. you don't have to do it this way -- this just lets you move a group of controls my moving only one.

I posted earlier tongight (07/02/2002) to someone else on a very similar concern. I've tried searching for it again, but can't find it quickly. Sort the threads in this forum by date and start looking most recent first. They had subreports which were being broken across a page; I posted a good long chunk of code with explanatory comment. My username is CVigil. I think finding that will set you on your way if you need more. Sorry I don't have more time tonight.
