Silly question

When I start up a terminal konsole in KDE, RedHat 8.0,
the font is kinda screwed up...
there seems to be a space between every character,
or there are large space blocks between
[user@host] and the command

any ideas how I can solve this ?

How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?

Hi
I ran into the same issue. I ended up replacing the Video card. I am not really sure that the card had anything to do with it but I know for a fact it had issues. You may want to try typing reset in the xterminal see if that helps.

Wish I had a more direct answer

Sounds like the console is configured to use a variable width font - which can play up.

Try changing the font to a fixed width font like courier, fixed, terminal, typewriter etc.
