On my RH9/KDE3.1 system, when I point Konqueror to an audio CD by entering the "audiocd:/" pseudo-filesystem marker, one of the available options is to view the CD as a set of Ogg Vorbis files. These files can be dragged and dropped to other places on the filesystem, and Konqueror will rip the track automagically.

How do I activate similar functionality for MP3 it?

My own ear tells me that Ogg Vorbis renders a more faithful representation of an audio track, but my portble audio device only understands MP3.
