KDC certificate warning

Hello,

In my domain I get the following warning every 10 hours:
The currently selected KDC certificate was once valid, but now is invalid and no suitable replacement was found. Smartcard logon may not function correctly if this problem is not remedied. Have the system administrator check on the state of the domain's public key infrastructure. The chain status is in the error data.

Once I installed the certificate servers but it has been uninstalled by one of our colleagues. Then I reinstalled it but I get this error on both my DC's.

Any suggestions on help?

Hi Beboen,

This event could be logged if the RPC Locater service is set to Manual startup instead of Automatic. The default startup type in Windows 2000 is Automatic and in 2003 is Manual. Make sure that the startup Type is set to Automatic and start the service. Then stop and start the NetLogon service.
