I have a k7vm2 with XP 2400, when I turn my PC on it works
fine for a few seconds, then it simply stops: no video,
cpu fan stops, but the power led stays on.
Does this have something to do with the XP 2400?
(PS: I hear no strange beeps from the PC)
Thanks in advance!

Have you got the CPU fan connected to the CPU header terminals OR the system fan header terminals (common mistake is to connect to the wrong header)and as the motherboard is fan sensing it will just stop booting if an appropriate signal isn't picked up.
(some low speed fans can also cause similar symptoms)
Overheating is another possibility, if the heatsink has been fitted the wrong way around it won't be touching the CPU core squarely so will overheat and shut down in a matter of seconds.
Recess in the heatsink base must be positioned over the socket "A" writing on the CPU ZIFF socket.
Same as above but more slowly if heatsink paste hasn't been used.
