K7V will not fire up

Recently purchased an Asus K7V MB. Installed an Athlon 800, 128 PC133 meme, ATI rage maxx videw, SB live sound and network card. All new. When I try to fire up the system, the power comes on for about 1 sec then the power goes off. I have tried removing cards and cables one by one to isolate the problem. Anyone have any idea why this would be happening?

Thanks for responding. It is a slot A Athlon and the power supply is a new 300 watt. [sig][/sig]

You may well have done this, but remove your RAM and snap it back into its slots securely.

As Karl may be thinking, I am tempted to think the power supply is fault. Do you have an alternate you could test on the machine?

Had the same problem with 300 w. power supply. Tried 3 different PS's then switched to a 250 w. and it worked! go figure. [sig][/sig]
