is there any type of script or command or even any way at all to make a icon on a single user pc prompt for a password on double click ? a freind asked me about this and i have no idea if something like this is possable to do with out setting up seperate user accounts.thanks

The NT security model used by XP is user based. You determine what any username and password resource can do. But as a likely lame answer to your question, there is no feature to offer password prompting to an iconic shortcut. If though the shortcut was a reference to a file or folder that was encrypted, .zip or .rar then you can choose to force a password prompt.
