Just upgraded from 98 to 2k now got no internet connection 1

Bit of a strange one, just upgraded one of my machines from win98 to win2000. Once the minor teething troubles like screen drivers were resolved everyhing appears to be ok except for the internet connection.
Have three machines networked via d-link router, the other 2 are still on win 98 and have internet connection no probs. And all 3 pcs can see each other on the network. Just cant figure out why the win2k machine cant connect to the internet over the network
any thoughts?

Be carefull to of some firewall products that do not like to be upgraded. The Symantec/Norton NIS product is one that has to have all autodiscovered settings removed, and retrained.

Tried the winsock fix recommended by bcastner to no avail. Still get the same problem whenever I try to connect to a website in ie explorer I get the warning popup Web page unavailable while offline

An old copy of Zonealarm which although not running was causing all the problems
