Hi folks, I normally spend my time in the MS section but thought I would tell you I just sat my Sec+ and passed.

I used the Syngress Security+ book and Transcender exams to prepare for this exam, I also attended a 1-1 class with an instructor who highlighted the areas I needed help with.

I have been in IT for a while and found the whole exam rather easy, I was in and out of the exam in 20 minutes, thats from entering the testroom to leaving it.
I passed with a score of 868 which I am happy with. I had averaged 84% with the Transcenders so I was more than ready for the exam.

All in all there weren't any shocks or surprises.

Good Show! Congratulations!

SimonDavies,

Congratulations! I know when I took Security+, there was a (seemingly) mandatory survey at the end with maybe 10 more questions. Same with you?

Wish, yeah I think it was 11 questions, they don't tell you whether you pass until you complete that :(

SimonDavies,

When I took the Security+ in February or so, there was that survey before you got your score. After 100 questions, a survey was just a bit irritating, but just the same I was only in the seat for 12 minutes.

The first time that I took Security+, I barely missed passing, having only used one book and not studying the material. I recall having one question on Bell-LaPadula MAC, that wasn't covered in the Security+ Guide to Netowrk Security book that I used to prepare.

In this case, Test King came in handy, since it had hundreds of questions which I was able to research the answers to.
