Hi, I have a question!

I have an excel sheet with some part numbers that I want to import into MAS90, but my question is, if I just want to modify the PLANNER CODE or another field, how can I tell it to Visual Integrator? because, you know, for importing data, you need to have required fields!

thanks!

Actually you do not need to have all the required fields.

With the Item Master File, IM1, the key is the item number so all you really need in your file is the item number and the Planner Code or the field you want to modify. In the VI job just have those two fields in the Data tab. On the Validation tab remove all entries except for Item.

NOTE that you MUST check your file carefully and make sure you ONLY have on file items. If your spread sheet contains items that are NOT on file or the header to the file you will write corrupt records to the IM1 and cause all sorts of problems. So before the import make sure you have NO header information and that ALL items are on file.
