just installed new card but moniter goes to standby

i have just installed a GeForce mx4000 64mg card to my comp i then booted and installed the drivers from the driver cd which came with it, it then wanted restart after installing and it does ok but then as it just starts to load win screen were you enter your password the moniter goes to standby and i cant get it back on and i dont think there is anything going on in the background. any help would be great. the only way i can get in to win is by going to safemode

256 ram
20gb hard drive
15inch relisys moniter
1.3 amd duron
pc chips mb m810
the card i just installed is a {Aopen power gpu geforce mx4000}

try to adjust the refresh rate, check kabeling and card propper seated in slot.

how do i change the refresh rate?

Boot into safe mode, it is 640x480. If the card works ok there, change the refresh rate as low as you can and reboot normally. Set to 800x600 and "play" from there!
