To this point, my responsibilities have been monitoring and administrating adds, moves and changes for the US. We've releived our counterparts across the pond and everything was dumped on me. I'm currently admin to Nortel Option 11's, 61's and 81's using OTM and call pilot. I administer all of our norstar rigs with Norstar ICS Programming tools.

This outfit uses BCM and call pilot. Call pilot looks fairly straight forward, but I have no idea where I'm making my changes in BCM. It's been asked I re-align names to extension because the phone admin never did this over there. ??? I don't even know where to begin.

If you have the DN of every phone and there name, you make the change in the first Menu (Config), you need to have the User/Password to access it though.

then find out which one's should have Vmail and use Menu Call Pilot to make the changes. This is a different User/Password.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Bcm's are pretty much the same as a Norstar.

Hi Thank you for responding. My manager gave me a list of each one of the DN's with corresponding names. I've been in call pilot and all are matched up properly. I do have the list of supervisor un and pw's to access every one. So I just go to config. I'll try.

I'm in to config, there's
system
resources
services
management
diagnostics

Sorry, I've never seen this before. My vp's just gave it to me and said they're all the same. I have no idea where I'd find the attendant DN's to assign names.

Extension names can contain both letters and numbers, but cannot be
longer than seven characters. The # and * symbols cannot be used in names.
The system allows you to assign the same name to both lines and extensions in
your system.
To avoid confusion, do not assign the same name to two extensions, or to both
an extension and a line in your system.
Use creative combinations of initials, abbreviations or even nicknames, to give
each extension a unique name.

To change or edit an Extension name

Open Business Communications Manager click on "Configure" & Log in to
Unified Manager

1.Click and open Services
2.Click and open Telephony Services
3.Click and open System DN's (Teminals & Sets on BCM version 2.0 to 2.3 then go to step 5.)
4.Click and open Active DN's
5.Click on the Extension number and open the selections
6.Click and highlight General
The extension name will appear, click in the Name box to add or amend the name

Eureka! Thank you all. I wasn't double clicking on anything so I wasn't seeing the drop down info. Thank you thank you thank you. :)

Follow the link for documentation on the BCM screen you've shown.

every single document on operation and installation is available on the BCM for download.
