Hi All,

I am new for Rexx & ISPF Dialog. I am looking for one
example. I want to take a 12 byte number from user using
panel and search into the file. if record found then display record from file.

Can you please give me full code with example.
I am working on Mainframe.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Here's my thoughts. I don't think it's ever a good idea to try to learn too many things at once. I think you need to learn how to program and write procedural code and how to think logically. It doesn't really matter to me what language you choose to learn all of that in. Once you've mastered how to program, then you can start learning how to code ISPF applications and use ISPF facilities and services. Once you've mastered those, then move on to writing ISPF EDIT macros. All of this is knowledge that you can carry forward from one language to the next. Once you know ISPF, then you can learn REXX. You'll already know how to apply ISPF processes to your REXX programs.

Also, I find that the ISPF Edit Models for all of the ISPF objects and services are invaluable as templates for your own custom applications. Take advantage of them whenever possible.
