Please stop using this program - for people who have jobs waiting 3 minutes for your PC to come back to life because you stupidly clicked on a link to a pdf is annoying.

I have started a crusade to remove it from every PC in the world. I hope you join me.

I have discovered a set of hacks that stop it preloading every plug-in in the universe but i think that any product which requires external hacking like that to be useable should be destroyed.

The last point is really the crux of it - if Adobe stop doing this then i will send a lovely thought to their company and use the product...until then...
