just curious about accpac plus...

I have alot of clients interested in "something other than microsoft". One in particular has accpac plus on a novell server and wondering if she can use linux as a client.

Anyone run accpac plus from a linux client with the database on a microsoft or novell product? If so, any particular flavor of linux?

Not entirely sure there. If I'm reading and understanding right you're asking if they can run something like an XWindows (windows emulator) to run Plus.

I wouldn't recommend it. I'd upgrade them to something else. I work with an ACCPAC dealer in the US that has a client running Win2000 - ACCPAC Advantage series with a Pervasive database running on Linux...

Then there's Business Visions from Sage (which is going to buy ACCPAC)...

The chances of some of these clients upgrading accpac is slim to none. Plus works for them and what they need...
Just curious about some other OS, and yes, i'm curious to see if accpac plus can be run in a x-windows environment.
