Just changing name instead of rebuilding station is not recommended

Just curious is it not recommended to just change the name of a station if a user leaves and another one replaces this person instead of rebuilding the station from scratch again. Just trying to see if it was ok because I hear that the software could get corrupted doing so. I do have a release 25.3 and was told that this is a newer release so it wont corrupt the software any more like the older version. Is this correct. Is it ok to just change the name of a station rather then building from scratch.

I have never had a problem with name changes on any level software,,, but if you have Meridian Voicemail then i would strongly recommend that you OUT the voive mail account and rebuild it as this is a well known corruption problem...
it has happened to me in the past.

If you're talking about changing the name from MAT, then you may experience problems. Actually, if you do ANYTHING in MAT, you may experience problems I have not had any issues with name changes made from the command line interface on the switch. In fact, this is one of the purposes of LD 95.
