Hello all,

I'm trying to make an IP phone work for the first time, I've read all the documentation I can find but I can't figure out how this will work. I'm not very security conscience, I'm looking for a fast easy way to do it, preferrably with a Windows VPN server (not the BCM). Is that possible? I also would like to know if the phone must have an IP of the same subnet to connect to the BCM.

Thanks

You'd need a hardware based VPN to make an i2002/2004 work at a remote site. You can use a VPN client connection if you want to use an i2050.

Not sure if hardware based VPN's will speak to a Windows VPN server. Linksys, Sonicwall, Nortel contivity all work well.

The IP sets don't need to be on the same subnet, but the remote subnet does need to be routed and able to speak to the BCM.

Thanks for clarifying that! Based on what you've said, I think I'm going to try to connect a Netgear VPN router from home to my Cisco PIX at work and see if I can get that working. I'll post more when I'm able to get them talking.

Thanks
