Hi all,

Does anyone know where can I find the file that actually hold the information about the junk mail senders in Exchange 2000? I have about 700 addresses that I need to add to the list and do not want to add them one by one, I was thinking about openning the list file itself and add them there instead, is this possible ?is there an easier way to do it?

Thanks

Adam

I could be wrong, but I thought the one that was accessible to us was actually just an example and that the actual one used was not accessible. (I'm looking on MSDN now to see if I can find the mention of this that I thought I recalled seeing)

Also, note that blocking straight e-mails isn't especially effective since the spammers frequently change addresses.

As a result, you are better off using something that fights it from a few different angles - I just recently installed the free SpamAssassain Perl scripts and hacked them into Exchange via EventSinks (not the best solution, but good enough for us).

So just be aware that your efforts might not be worth it, even though they have good intentions behind them.

Thanks for your reply and your suggestions. I am doing the blocking on temp basis, our main e-mail server is a Unix sendmail server that is configured for blacklist blocking, we are taking the server down for few weeks and making our exchange server the main e-mail server meanwhile. I just need something to reduce the amount of spam we get while all of this is going on.
